THE INFLUENCE OF PARENTS ON THE LOSS OF READING HABITS
Description
Reading, an activity that nowadays fewer people engage in, was once very common. Parents and children would often go to the bookstore to buy the newspaper, and maybe a book for the younger ones. Libraries were very busy places, but gradually these activities began to disappear. The change in activities was so significant that many bookstores had to close due to a lack of customers.Nowadays, the activities that both children and adults prefer to do are linked to technology. Even reading the newspaper or searching for information is as simple as accessing the internet from a cellphone, and within minutes, you can find what you are looking for without leaving your home. But what is happening to books and libraries? Fewer and fewer people are visiting these places.
This research is based on the influence that parents have on their children regarding reading and the support they receive at home when doing schoolwork. Increasingly, fewer parents are involved in these activities, perhaps due to a lack of time, coming home tired from work, or in some cases, a large number of children do not live with their parents or live with only one.The teacher's work greatly affects the child's learning, but it should be noted that there is only one teacher for an average of about 40 students. That is why parental support is always requested to help the student achieve better learning outcomes and reinforce what has been learned at school.
