A case of fibrino-purulent peritonitis due to necrosis of the appendicular stump in an eight-month pregnant woman

Description

Of all the complications following the early postoperative period of an appendectomy, the appendicular stump necrosis is one of the most formidable ones. The duality of not well-presented symptoms in the early postoperative period, combined with a rapidly progressing peritonitis, forms a devastating, life-threatening condition. All presented above, combined with a last-trimester pregnancy, create a stage for difficult choices and challenging diagnoses.

От всички усложнения в ранния следоперативен период след апендиктомия, некрозата на апендикуларния чукан е едно от най-сериозните. Двойнствеността на недобре изразените симптоми в ранния следоперативен период, съчетана с бързо прогресиращ перитонит, създава разрушително, животозастрашаващо състояние. Всичко това, съчетано с бременност в последния триместър, създава условия за трудни избори и предизвикателни диагнози.
