Citation Ranking of Research Universities in Eastern Europe

This dataset presents the Citation Ranking of Research Universities in Eastern Europe (EE), based on Google Scholar citation data collected in January 2025. It is an EE-specific list comprising 796 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), ranked by the total number of citations received by their top academic researchers. The data originate from the global dataset “Transparent Ranking of Universities by the Number of Citations Received by the Google Scholar Profiles of Their Top Researchers,” which includes 6,191 HEIs worldwide and is published semiannually by the Cybermetrics Lab (IPP-CSIC, Spain).
