DOI minting and software release management using Github and Zenodo

Github and Zenodo have collaborated on integrating their respective systems to allow a degree of automation in minting DOIs, and uploading release artifacts to Zenodo as part of the Github release workflow.  The advantages, and some possible pitfalls of this approach were discussed in a session at the 2025 Python Heliophysics Community (PyHC) spring meeting.  We will discuss progress that has been made since then on some of the technical issues (especially embedding of versioned DOIs in release artifacts), with the hope of providing guidance, and perhaps some additional tools, for helping heliophysics package maintainers make the most of the existing Github/Zenodo tools.
