UNIVERSITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN NETWORK: PET SHOPS
Description
ABSTRACT: The “Pet Shops” extension project aims to strengthen the interaction between the university, the market, and the community by promoting professional development and sustainability within the local pet sector. The initiative seeks to train entrepreneurs, workers, and students through meetings, visits, workshops, consultancies, and extension activities focused on management, animal welfare, customer service, and environmentally responsible practices. With a participatory and interdisciplinary methodology, the project integrates knowledge from the fields of Administration, Law, Economics, Accounting, Education, and Environment, encouraging the practical application of academic knowledge and the development of innovative business solutions. It is expected to contribute to the appreciation of the pet economy, generate positive social and environmental impacts, and consolidate the university as a transforming agent in strengthening the sector and promoting the quality of life of animals and their guardians.
