Description

Abstract
At the end of the 1990s, research began to take shape at the newly established National University of Austral Patagonia, with goals aimed at prioritizing the development of highly trained personnel and responding to the demands of the region. These effortsare reflected in the first Research Conferences, which were recorded on VHS tapes and bear witness to the work of the initial research teams in advancing Science and Technology in our region. In order to begin studying the role of women in research activities, we examined the institution’s official documentation to identify the different roles held within research teams recorded on VHS tapes from the First and Second Research Conferences held at UNPA-UARG. To analyze the role of women in the processes of establishing and consolidating research within the institution, we selected five female researchers from different fields and explored their academic output during the study periods. One of the many possible perspectives on this issue focuses on participation and production within research projects. We will use this as a starting point to approach the subject through institutional audiovisual records, providing a reference framework from which wecan begin to critically examine and investigate the role of women researchers in the institution.
