GW241011 and GW241110: Exploring Binary Formation and Fundamental Physics with Asymmetric, High-spin Black Hole Coalescences

This release contains data and code necessary to reproduce figures and key numbers appearing in
GW241011 and GW241110: Exploring Binary Formation and Fundamental Physics with Asymmetric, High-spin Black Hole Coalescences.
Included in the file GW241011_GW241110_data_release.tar.gz are two directories:
data/: This directory contains the following subdirectories:ancestors/: Results of GW241011 and GW241110 ancestral inference, under the hierarchical merger hypothesis (see Sec. 4.2 and Appendix E of paper)eccentric_pe/: Parameter estimation results for GW241011 and GW241110 with eccentric waveforms (Sec. 4.3 and Appendix B of paper)external_cluster_simulations/: Data obtained from external simulations of stellar clusters and their population of compact binary mergers (Sec. 4.1 and Appendix D of paper)misc/: This directory contains post-processed posterior samples from events published in the GWTC-3 (10.5281/zenodo.5546662) and GWTC-4 (10.5281/zenodo.16053483) catalogs, as well as search sensitivity estimates derived from signal injection campaigns (10.5281/zenodo.16740127). This directory additionally contains a script with which parameter estimation data from other events can be downloaded from Zenodopopulation_inference/: Contains results from binary black hole population inference with and without GW241011 and GW241110, under a variety of population models (Appendix C of paper)spin_induced_quadrupole/: Parameter estimation results that include inference of the spin-induced quaddrupole moment of GW241011 (Sec. 5.1 and Appendix F.1)standard_pe/: Standard parameter estimation results for GW241011 and GW241110, including results from multiple waveform families (Sec. 3 and Appendix A)subdominant_mode_amplitudes/: Parameter estimation results including independent inference of subdominant spherical harmonic mode amplitudes (Sec. 5.2 and Appendix F.2)superradiance_results/: Derived bounds on superradiance from ultralight boson clouds from GW241011 (Sec. 5.3, Appendix F.3)
notebooks/: This directory contains python notebooks that create figures appearing in the paper, as well as notebooks responsible for computing important numerical results (saved in the form of latex macros). Some of these notebooks require additional data not included by default in this data release. In such cases, bash scripts are provided that can be executed to obtain necessary data. See documentation and further instructions appearing in the notebooks themselves.
All files in this data release are produced and authored by the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, Virgo Collaboration, and KAGRA Collaboration except for the following:
