SpectraOral: AI-Based Early Detection of Oral Cancer

SpectraOral is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered diagnostic support prototype developed to detect early-stage oral cancer and pre-cancerous lesions using deep learning-based image analysis. The model leverages transfer learning (ResNet50, EfficientNetB3) and Grad-CAM visualization to provide explainable results for clinicians. This research note, developed under IIT Mandi’s AI & Data Science Minor Program and Softcodex AI Lab, highlights methodology, results (92% accuracy), and its vision to democratize healthcare through accessible AI screening.
