The article examines the role of the digital economy as a key driver of modern development, influencing almost all spheres of human activity. Particular attention is paid to the processes of digitalization, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the integration of environmental aspects into economic practice. The study highlights the importance of innovation as a combination of invention and implementation, as well as the role of “green” enterprises in achieving sustainable development goals. Additionally, the paper analyzes the evolution of automation systems in metallurgical production and the challenges associated with the increasing capacity of metallurgical equipment.
