INTERDISCIPLINARY MANAGEMENT OF CHRONIC FACIAL PAIN

Abstract

Chronic facial pain syndromes are multifactorial and difficult-to-treat conditions that require a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic approach. Their development is associated with various causes, including neurological disorders, dental diseases, psychoemotional factors, and articular pathologies. Effective management of such patients is only possible through the combined efforts of specialists from various fields of medicine—neurologists, dentists, family physicians, physiotherapists, and clinical psychologists. This paper focuses on the key elements of an interdisciplinary approach to the treatment of chronic facial pain, including diagnostic methods, treatment options, and the distribution of functions between different professional groups.
