Kamaraj, often referred to as the “Kingmaker” and remembered for his simplicity and integrity, served as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and President of the Indian National Congress. His tenure is celebrated as the “Golden Period” of Tamil Nadu, particularly for his emphasis on education and the implementation of the free midday meal scheme, which greatly improved school enrollment and literacy across the state.
