Self-Narrating Neural Networks: Real-Time Natural Language Explanations During Machine Learning Training
Authors/Creators
Description
This paper introduces "Self-Narrating Neural Networks" - a system where machine learning models explain their training process in real-time using natural language instead of technical metrics. A proof-of-concept study with 2 students on ECG classification shows technical feasibility and preliminary evidence of improved understanding and faster problem detection. While the small sample size limits conclusions, the work demonstrates a novel approach to making ML training more accessible and provides a foundation for larger-scale investigation.
