Authors/Creators
Description
This paper examines Uzbekistan’s evolving landscape of private higher education (HE), characterized by increased investor interest, regulatory tightening, and ongoing licensing controversies. Drawing on recent incidents of suspended and revoked licenses, this study argues for the urgent development of a clear, strategic policy to foster accountability, transparency, and long-term investor and student confidence. It analyzes the regulatory environment, recent scandals, international comparisons, and proposes strategic directions for policy.
