Enabling Open Science with DataCite: Insights from Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates

Mohamad delivered an online presentation titled “Enabling Open Science with DataCite: Insights from Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates” during the First Congress of the Regional Open Science Alliance in the Arab Region (ROSA1), held online on 11 October 2025.

The session explored how persistent identifiers (PIDs), DOIs, and open metadata serve as key components in advancing open science and strengthening research infrastructure across the Arab region. Mohamad highlighted DataCite’s role in enabling global research visibility and collaboration, showcasing practical experiences from Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates. The presentation also emphasized the importance of equitable access to research infrastructure and the role of regional partnerships in promoting open research practices.
