Strengthening Mobility Support for Students with Fewer Opportunities

Description
Strengthening Mobility Support for Students with Fewer Opportunities is a publication that provides practical guidelines for inclusive internationalisation in higher education institutions. Developed within the framework of the DiEM project, the guidelines aim to enhance institutional capacity to support Erasmus+ students with fewer opportunities. Drawing on research that engaged over 150 international officers, institutional mapping exercises, and study visits across four universities, the document offers a comprehensive framework for embedding inclusion throughout the student mobility journey.
The publication offers guidelines divided into two parts: Part I focuses on strengthening inclusive organisational structures at the institutional (meso) level, while Part II offers hands-on guidance for staff directly supporting students - such as international relations officers, faculty coordinators, accessibility centres, and student organisations - across the four phases of mobility: pre-arrival, on arrival, during the stay, and re-entry. Together, these guidelines support higher education institutions in translating inclusion strategies into concrete, sustainable practices that make mobility more equitable and accessible for all students.
