Description
Paediatric acupuncture is increasingly investigated as a complementary treatment for infantile colic and other gastrointestinal disorders. Tui Na massage is cited as a beneficial intervention when combined with acupuncture. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of paediat-ric acupuncture in the treatment of colic and gastrointestinal disorders, highlighting the role of Tui Na massage as a complementary therapy to acupuncture. Studies suggest that acupuncture can reduce colic symptoms and improve intestinal motility; however, it should be used with caution, as it may cause pain, particularly in younger infants. Tui Na massage has also shown positive results in reducing pain and promoting digestive well-being in children, making it a valuable complementary therapy to acupuncture. While paediatric acupuncture shows therapeutic potential, safety concerns warrant further investigation. Additionally, Tui Na massage may serve as an effective complementary therapy.
