Differential scanning calorimetry measurements of samples of poly(lactic acid) with different stereochemistry and low molecular weight

Description
Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC_standard) and Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimetry (MDSC) measurements of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) samples of low molecular weight.
The samples were synthesized at University of Cádiz, Spain. The data set includes data for three PLA stereoisomers: PLLA which consists of L-monomers; PDLA which consists of D-monomers; and PDLLA which is a copolymer containing equal parts of each monomer type. The molecular weight, Mw, of each sample was estimated by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance method. The samples were measured in Centro de Investigación, Tecnología e Innovación (CITIUS) at University of Seville, Spain.
There are two file formats: txt and 001, which can be opened by the TA Instruments’ Universal Analysis program.
The files are labelled as follows: stereoisomer_Mw_method
The following protocol was used to produce the data:
DSC:
-heating 10K/min from the room temperature until 190º
-isotherm for 5 min at 190º
-jump to -50º
-heating 10K/min from -50º to 190º
MDSC:
-heating 10K/min from the room temperature until 190º
-isotherm for 5 min at 190º
-jump to -20º
-heating 2K/min from -20º to 90º (temperature modulation period of 60 s and amplitude 1 K)
