Description

The Human Rights Violation Reporting Dataset (HURIVIRE) is a large-scale, paragraph-level corpus of human rights reports from four major international organizations, spanning 25 years (1999-2023). This dataset enables fine-grained computational analysis of how human rights violations are documented, described, and reported across different organizations, countries, and time periods.

The dataset contains 847,392 paragraphs extracted from reports by:

  1. Amnesty International (AI): Annual country reports (1999-2023)
  2. Human Rights Watch (HRW): Country-specific reports (1999-2023)
  3. US State Department (SD): Country Reports on Human Rights Practices (1999-2023)
  4. Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID): Country reports (1999-2023)
