It recognized the importance of indigenous narratives and storytelling in environment awareness and resistance against unsustainable practices. Some literary critics suggest that indigenous communities in the Northeast reflect a deep respect for nature and interconnectedness, which can contrasted with the forces of conflicts. Amitav Ghosh’s Gun land, explores themes of displacement, migration, and the effect of human actions on the earth.
