Description
This document has been written with the aim of establishing a legal framework to address the challenges posed by artificial intelligence and crime for legislators and current criminal codes.
Many criminal groups or individuals (natural or legal persons) use AI to commit, strengthen, automate, or complicate crimes such as phishing, malware, the use of autonomous aerial vehicles, the production of synthetic child sexual abuse material, or the creation of criminal deepfakes.
The Model Law on AI and Crime is a guide for classifying crimes committed with AI in countries' criminal codes. The work is part of the European EL PACCTO 2.0 Program and the support it provides to countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the European Union in the fight against transnational organized crime.
