Description

The southern German kingdom of Württemberg was administratively divided into districts, called "Oberämter" in German. Between 1824 and 1886, the royal statistical office published one regional study on each of the districts, including text descriptions of the local fauna.

The CSV data represent all species documented in these sources, with the name of the district, the year of publication, the original text, the species names as given in the original text, information on the presence of the species, a normalized species name, and a GBIF identifier.

To reference the provided district names geographically, the GeoJSON data show the borders of the districts as they appeared around 1848 in a map by Franz von Mittnacht.
