Reproducible R Workflow for Analyzing Pearl Oyster Associations in Bahrain (based on AlMealla et al., 2025)
Authors/Creators
Description
This R project provides a reproducible workflow for analyzing associations between pearl oyster beds with benthic ecosystems in Bahrain based on the journal article:
AlMealla, R., Edullantes, B., Ali, M., Mardhi, Z., Khan, M., Sharif, M., Tyabji, A., AlMoussa, N., Omran, F., Hasan, M., Hazeem, L., Khamis, A., Al Khalifa, E., & Dabruzzi, T. (2025). Comprehensive Associations Between Pearl Oyster Beds with Corals, Seagrass Beds and Algal Beds Recorded in the Hottest Sea on the Planet. Frontiers in Marine Science, 12. https://doi.org/10.3389/fmars.2025.1667575
The Data folder contains five datasets on benthic composition, oyster community structure, density, pearl yield, and population size structure. The Script folder includes six R scripts that compute summaries, perform statistical analyses, and generate visualizations. All scripts save tidy tables and statistical results in Outputs and publication-ready plots in Plots. This structure supports integrated analyses, clear reporting, and reproducible ecological assessment.
