ASSIST infrared spectrometer side-by-side comparison dataset (Boulder, CO in Sep-Oct 2023)
Authors/Creators
Description
Seven ground-based infrared spectrometers, called ASSISTs, were deployed in Boulder Colorado USA from mid-September to mid-October 2023. This dataset allowed the relative evaluation of the accuracy of the downwelling spectral infrared radiance observed by these radiometers in the 5-19 µm band. Thermodynamic profiles were retrieved from these radiance observations using the TROPoe retrieval framework (Turner and Löhnert, Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology, 2014) and these retrievals are included also. This distribution also includes the IDL code used for the analysis. A manuscript with the results of this study was submitted to the Atmospheric Measurements Techniques by Turner et al. 2025.
