The mushroom spider Phoroncidia eburnea (Simon, 1895) (Araneae: Theridiidae) from South Africa

Phoroncidia eburnea (Simon, 1895), a species described from Transvaal, South Africa. It has since been recorded in Swaziland and in the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, and Western Cape in South Africa. The general morphology of the species is discussed based on photographs of live specimens, with notes on their behaviour, distri-bution in South Africa, and conservation status.
