Replication Data for: Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Information Administration (EIA), State Electricity Profiles 1996-2023

State electricity profiles for US states, the District of Columbia and the entire US, for each year.  Data are generated by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), a component of the Department of Energy (DOE), each year, by state and for the country as a whole. The "guide" pdf was obtained from the link titled "Electric Power Data Guide", here:  https://www.eia.gov/electricity/data/guide/pdf/guide.pdf .

In 2012 - 2023 there are profiles for each year, and 2011 and previous some years are omitted.  All available years were obtained.  Original URL for the data is here:  https://www.eia.gov/electricity/state/.  Data were downloaded by using the dropdown menu at the right, and selecting each year, and then selecting each state, and downloading the "Full Data Tables".  Between 2012-2014 inclusive, the tables weren't bundled together into one workbook, so each table for each state was downloaded separately.  Tables in those years are labled with the number, and the numbers correspond as follows:

And in 2012 and 2013, only Tables 1-10 were present.
