One Health Index for Harris County, Texas, USA

Using a One Health Approach, this index combines environmental, wildlife/biodiversity, and human health indicators to investigate the interconnections between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment and identify where One Health actions are needed most. The data sets were identified through existing research and refined through a series of multidisciplinary discussions with subject matter experts (SMEs). This presentation represents one of the first efforts of its kind to establish a Harris County-specific framework for implementing One Health actions by identifying areas of priority. The data layers used to create it are also available for download.
