Abstract
Focusing on the sectoral performance, MSME performance, and export trends, this study critically examines the performance of the industrial development in Rajasthan during the years after the economic reformation in 1991. It evaluates the status of the employment indicators, the Index of Industrial Production data, and the GSVA trend over the period 1991 and 2025 through the mixed-method approach. The infrastructural development and regulatory inducement proposed by the study are that the manufacturing as the mass-producing industrial profile facilitates the manufacturing. There is also subjective evidence that MSME has made a significant contribution as far as diversification and employment in an area are concerned, and it is proven that the presence of MSME influences the output and productivity of exports positively. It is also in the context of this paper to examine how implementation at the state level is connected to national policy regarding liberalization and to look specifically at how Rajasthan is sequentially aligned with the broader economic objectives. There is a need to take action in order to remove sectoral imbalances as well as regulatory bottlenecks that still occur out there as a result of extreme profits. All the recommendations, other than a simplification of financial incentives and adoption of skills training, would be to improve the online infrastructure. It offers an informative, factual, geographically oriented analysis of industrial reform that bridges a substantial research gap within the academic and policy decision-making community. It is supposed that sub-national economies will promote fair development in a liberalized context, and the industrial history of Rajasthan has been referred to as an example of how the same can be done. Policymakers, scholars, and development professionals who might wish to replicate the successful industrial models in other states in India would be interested in the results.
