Description
This factsheet provides system data and performance results from the implementation of an
advanced wastewater treatment system designed for agricultural water reuse. Wastewater from local treatment ponds is treated and repurposed for agricultural use, with a focus on water and nutrient recovery. The reclaimed water is used in a hydroponic system for tomato cultivation. The data and results presented reflect the system’s operation in 2024, during which advanced wastewater treatment was conducted from April to November, and reclaimed water was used for irrigation from September to November. Additionally, supplementary data from the 2025 operation were incorporated to address data gaps and validate the findings. The use of reclaimed water for tomato production was implemented on a small section of the greenhouse for research purposes, with plans to scale up to the entire greenhouse. The data here have been scaled to reflect the greenhouse’s full size.
