ON THE USE OF VERTICAL SCREW MILLS FOR THE FINE GRINDING OF ORE

ABSTRACT. This paper offers an analysis of the main design features of vertical screw mills and the grinding method that takes place in their operational space. A literature review of sources related to the operation of these machines is made. Due to the lack of a coherent methodology for determining the power of their engines, an attempt is made to create a simplified one. The same methododlogy is applied to a vertical screw mill used for the fine grinding of gold ores. A computer model of the mill screw is made and the operational problems in the use of these facilities are determined.
