Abstract The present article analyzes the role of integrative psychotherapy in cancer treatment through a self-biographical case study. An oncological diagnosis generates major challenges on the physical, psychological, and emotional levels, highlighting the relevance of a holistic approach capable of addressing the patient’s fundamental needs: existential and spiritual, emotional and psychological, relational and social, physical and informational. Integrative psychotherapy, by combining conventional medical interventions with complementary techniques directed toward body, mind, and emotions, supports the development of resilience and facilitates an authentic process of adaptation and recovery. The attention given to these dimensions by healthcare professionals and by the personal support network has proven essential not only for survival but also for comprehensive recovery. The article aims to emphasize the benefits of the integrative model and to provide guidelines for clinical practice in the field of psycho-oncology. |
