Description

This research explores the impact of multisensory stimulation on the language development and academic performance of students with learning difficulties in Lebanese elementary schools. Traditional teaching strategies often fail to meet the diverse sensory needs of these students, causing them to lag behind their peers.

Using a quasi-experimental mixed-methods design, the study included students from grades 1 to 3 in schools in Saida, Lebanon. Over six weeks, a multisensory intervention was implemented, integrating visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic activities. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests of language and academic skills, classroom observations, and teacher surveys.

The results demonstrated significant improvements in both receptive and expressive language abilities, as well as measurable gains in reading, writing, and mathematics. Additionally, students exhibited higher motivation, engagement, and confidence, evidenced by increased participation and reduced anxiety in class.

The study concludes that multisensory learning approaches are effective in enhancing educational outcomes for students with learning difficulties. It recommends the integration of these approaches into regular classrooms to support inclusive education practices in Lebanon.
