From Research to Visibility - The Power of Open Science: Lecture within the Horizon Europe projects GraspOS and PFAStwin

  • 1. University of Belgrade - Faculty of Chemistry

Description

A lecture titled "From Research to Visibility: The Power of Open Science" was held in collaboration with two Horizon Europe projects, GraspOS and PFAStwin. The event focused on the importance of educating and encouraging researchers to publish and share their scientific results, highlighting how such practices increase visibility, citation rates, and recognition in the scientific community.
The second part of the lecture addressed institutional changes, including a new system for rewarding authors and departments, as well as updates to the Open Science Policy in line with the National Open Science Platform 2.0 and ongoing GraspOS project activities.
Through the exchange of ideas and previous experiences between librarians and researchers, three main conclusions were reached:
- Green open access remains a priority, and efforts will continue to deposit research outputs in the Cherry repository, ensuring open accessibility.
- A visual system of recognition is being developed to acknowledge departments and authors who share their results and actively participate in open science seminars.
- Support is expected from the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation regarding the implementation of specific deadlines for open access to publications, as outlined in the National Open Science Platform 2.0.
