FIGURES 1–19. Eolimna eurofarta Tahri & Van de Vijver sp. nov. LM images taken from the holotype population (BR-4901, Lac d'Issarlès, sample LI-44, Figs 1–11) and an additional population from the same sediment core (Lac d'Issarlès, LI-56, Figs 12–22). 1–22. LM views of two populations arranged in decreasing length. 23. SEM external view of an entire valve in oblique view, showing the girdle bands. 24–27. SEM external views of 4 entire valves showing the variability of the valve surface ornamentation. 28. SEM external detail of one quarter of a valve focusing on the surface structure, the areolae and the raphe structure. Note the small granules around the areolae. 29. SEM internal view of an entire valve. Scale bar = 10 μm except for Fig. 28 where scale bar = 5 µm.
