Thai Power System: Hourly Power Generation, Demand, and Cross-Border Flows

This repository has time series of the Thai power system, featuring generation, demand, import, and export between 2023 and 2024. This dataset was collected from the official website of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), who is the national system operator.

The generation and demand is disaggregated into five regions: North, South, Metropolitan, Central, and Northeast regions. It also details the electricty exchanges with neighboring countries: Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. The time series has an hourly resolution with units in megawatts (MW).

Each CSV file contains the following fields:

Regional Generation and Demand (MW)

• north_generation / north_demand
• south_generation / south_demand
• metropolitan_generation / metropolitan_demand
• central_generation / central_demand
• northeast_generation / northeast_demand

Cross-Border Power Exchange (MW)

• malaysia_IMP / malaysia_EXP: Power import from / export to Malaysia.
• laos_IMP / laos_EXP: Power import from / export to Laos [Electricite du Laos - EDL]
• hongsa_IMP: Power import from the Hongsa Thermal Power Plant in Laos.
• cambodia_EXP: Power export to Cambodia [Electricite du Cambodge - EDC]
