Description
This document, identified as S4-L2-KNMI-ATBD-2008 is identified as the Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document (ATBD) for the Sentinel 4 aerosol layer height product. This is a part of a series of ATBDs describing the technical basis of the products from the Sentinel 4/UVN Instrument.
This document provides the end-user with the information on the implementation of the aerosol layer height retrieval algorithm, which is in its development phase. This document will be updated during in the algorithm development phase and throughout the mission life. Any updates to the algorithm will be reflected in the most recent updated version of this document.
Other
The Sentinel 4 (S4) UVN instrument will be embarked on the MeteoSat Third Generation (MTG) geo-stationary platform and will observe Europe, Northern Africa and part of the North Atlantic ocean, providing hourly observations during daytime. The UVN instrument measures Earth Radiance in the ultraviolet, visible and near infra-red bands (NIR).
