Description

A number of geophysical (Level 2) products are derived from Sentinel-4. The retrieval algorithms are described in an Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document (ATBD) and the corresponding product formats are described in a Product User Manual (PUM).

This document, describes the technical characteristics of the Sentinel-4 Level 2 Sulfurdioxide SO2 product. Despite the ECSS standard does not strictly require the provision of the PUM along space engineering software, this deliverable is certainly handy for the end-user of the L2 product as seen in previous missions such as GOME, GOME2 and S5p

Other

The Sentinel-4 mission aims at providing information and services on air quality and climate for the decade following its launch in 2025. It will operate geostationary over Europe. The Sentinel-4 mission is part of the Global Monitoring of the European Programme for the establishment of a European capacity for Earth Observation (Copernicus). Sentinel-4 will make daily observations over Europe of key atmospheric constituents, including ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde, glyoxal as well as cloud and aerosol properties
