SEDOS Model Structure
Authors/Creators
Description
We have developed an open-source model structure that integrates key future technologies relevant to Germany’s energy transition across electricity, heat, conversion processes, transport, and industry. This comprehensive framework supports a sector-coupled energy system outlook extending to the year 2070.
The uploaded "SEDOS_model-structure_data" file outlines the structural foundation of our proposed dataset, which has been successfully implemented for selected processes (see "SEDOS_process-set_models") in three optimization models defined within the different frameworks: oemof, FINE, and TIMES.
By “model structure,” we refer to the definition of energy-related processes and their interconnections, represented through input and output vectors.
The core contribution of our work lies in an additional dataset parametrizing the model structure, which is publicly accessible via the Open Energy Platform. Together, this enables transparent and reproducible energy system modeling and supports long-term scenario development.
