Migrating Bitcoin to AOB for Enhanced Security
Authors/Creators
Description
Despite Bitcoin's success, its Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism has inherent security vulnerabilities, as highlighted by a recent 51% attack on Monero in 2025. This paper proposes a solution: migrating Bitcoin to the Atomic Ownership Blockchains (AOB) framework.
AOB is a new paradigm that uses independent micro-blockchains for each asset, with broadcast temporal ordering as an implicit consensus. This aims to shift the security foundation from an economic level to a cryptographic one. The paper discusses AOB's architecture, limitations, and a hard fork-free migration path, emphasizing the need for rigorous empirical validation and proposing simulation tests to explore the feasibility of Bitcoin's evolution.
