FAIR-EASE - D6.7 : Final report on users' engagement

This report presents the final analysis of user engagement within FAIR-EASE, covering the implementation of the related strategy from mid-project (M18) to its end (M36). From the outset, the project was designed to embed strong user engagement across all phases of its development, ensuring that services were co-designed, tested and validated in close collaboration with the scientific communities. A transversal approach was implemented so that user input and feedback informed the technical, organisational and dissemination dimensions of the project.

Key achievements covered by this report include our major 3-days hackathon at IFREMER in Brest held in March 2025, which brought together key partners to collaboratively address Earth Science challenges using our project tools. This event, along with our Final Event in Paris in June 2025, served as critical platforms for showcasing project results and gathering final stakeholder feedback. These major events were completed by webinars and participation of the FAIR-EASE consortium to key events of its ecosystem.

To facilitate continued use and further development of our results beyond the project's duration, we have comprehensively documented all technical aspects in JupyterBooks available through our project website. These detailed resources, complemented by our GitHub repositories, provide complete transparency into our methodologies and enable easy replication and adaptation by partners and the wider community.

Overall, FAIR-EASE has demonstrated that a structured, multi-layered approach to user engagement is both feasible and effective. The lessons learned and the community built around the project provide a solid foundation for the continued uptake and evolution of its services beyond the project’s duration.
