Two Quick Methods to Extract All Images from Microsoft Word Documents
Authors/Creators
Description
Extracting images from Microsoft Word can be slow if done one by one. This technical note explains two simple and efficient ways to export all embedded images at once:
-
DOCX to ZIP method – By renaming the
.docxfile to.zip, users can directly access the internalmediafolder containing images. -
Save as HTML method – Saving the Word file as a web page (
.html) automatically generates a folder with all embedded images.
Both approaches preserve image quality, require no extra tools, and are ideal for students, educators, and researchers who frequently work with Word documents.
