Island Ecosystem Optimization
Authors/Creators
Description
Island ecosystems, characterized by their geographic isolation, species endemism, and limited resource carrying capacity, exhibit unique ecological structures and functions. Inspired by these characteristics, this paper proposes an Island Ecosystem Optimization (IEO) algorithm that incorporates core mechanisms of island ecology into optimization problem solving. The algorithm simulates island microenvironmental differences through a multi-layered, isolated micro-island structure. It incorporates species life cycles and energy mechanisms to maintain population diversity. It employs energy flow and material recycling to ensure that locally optimal solutions support their neighbors. It also incorporates environmental perturbations and symbiotic interaction mechanisms to enhance global search capabilities. This paper systematically describes the algorithm's mathematical model, iterative process, and pseudocode, achieving innovative applications of island ecosystem characteristics in optimization algorithms. The design of the IEO algorithm not only enriches the theoretical framework of heuristic optimization methods but also provides new solutions to complex optimization problems.
