Description

This release provides the first version of LaLiTo (Lagrangian Linking Tomography).

LaLiTo generates maps of signed crossing density across a 3D volume from Lagrangian particle trajectories. The method works by:

  • Projecting 3D particle trajectories onto multiple 2D planes with varying normal vectors.
  • Counting signed crossings between projected trajectories within a voxelized grid.
  • Aggregating results into a volumetric measure of crossing density.

Features in this release

  • Parallelized processing of multiple projections.
  • Parallelized handling of multiple datasets.
  • Flexible voxel grid definition for 3D domains.
  • Output of crossing-density fields for further analysis and visualization.

This release is intended for researchers studying Lagrangian dynamics, turbulence, and flow topology, and provides a new way to quantify particle trajectory entanglement in 3D.
