Description

Blundell, Richard; Gu, Ran; Leth-Petersen, Søren; Low, Hamish; Meghir, Costas (2025). Durables and Lemons: Private Information and the Market for Cars. Quantitative Economics, forthcoming.

This replication package contains all code and synthetic datasets required to reproduce the workflow described in the paper. Two replication modes are provided:

  • Full replication using the confidential Danish registry data (accessible only on Statistics Denmark’s secure servers).
  • Public replication using synthetic data provided in this package, which mimic the structure of the confidential registers and allow all code to run from start to finish.

Structural model estimation was conducted in R/C++ with OpenMP parallelization. See the included README.pdf for detailed instructions, computational requirements, and software information.
