Description
Since the mid-1990s, a new research field called "Webometrics" has emerged based on new bibliometric methods, which studies the nature and characteristics of the web. This article tries to introduce selected areas of Webometric research that have a suitable trend and space for development, as well as some areas that currently have a less bright future. New research on the coverage and performance of search engines has recognized them as a format and framework for the selective analysis of quality and content. Problems related to web impact factors are discussed, and at the end of the article, new Webometric guidelines for the implementation of knowledge discovery and subject tracking on the webwhich are to some extent based on the bibliometric method used in citation and bibliographic databasesare presented in general. In this framework, the strategies of unified graph theory are considered, including: path analysis, cross-links, weak links, and the small-world phenomenon.
