E-static textile sensor DIY Template
Description
The PDF provides detailed instructions and a template for constructing E-static textile sensors using easily sourced fabrics. These are passive sensors that operate based on the principles of Triboelectric Nanogenerators (TENG), utilizing both vertical contact-separation and lateral sliding modes.
The guide includes instructions for building two types of sensors: a single-channel and a four-channel version. Different types of user interactions—such as swiping, stroking, or tapping—produce distinct voltage patterns. These patterns can be captured and analyzed using AI-based models to accurately identify each interaction, enabling the development of soft, fabric-based user interfaces for a wide range of applications.
