Description

Chaetorellia loricata (Rondani, 1870)

Material examined. Spaska, 23.07.2021, 1♀ (V. Korneyev leg.).

Distribution. Central and southern Europe (Merz & Korneyev, 2004). Throughout Ukraine, sporadically; Chernivtsi Region (first record).

Notes. Larvae in flower heads of Centaurea scabiosa, C. alpestris and C. tenuifolia (Asteraceae); overwinters as larvae in flower head or rarely as adults (Merz, 1994).
