Towards a Theowordiness Evaluation Model for Scholarly Writings in Biblical Research Studies: A Case Study of Hebrews Chapter One

This study proposes the Theowordiness Evaluation Model (TEM) as a theoretical framework, aimed to assessing the quality, validity, and theological fidelity of scholarly writings in biblical research studies through scriptural lens. TEM is constructed upon principles of scriptural evaluation theory, emphasizing the centrality of biblical truth, doctrinal integrity, and theological coherence in academic discourse. By integrating methodological rigour with theological soundness, the model seeks to establish evaluative criteria that ensure research remains faithful to Scripture while maintaining scholarly precision. Hebrews chapter one is employed as a case study to demonstrate the model’s applicability and relevance. Ultimately, TEM contributes to the advancement of biblical scholarship by providing a systematic tool for evaluating research outputs in a manner that upholds theological depth, methodological robustness, and contextual appropriateness. TEM is a novel framework for assessing the spiritual impact, scriptural relevance, and theological depth of scholarly writings in biblical research studies. TEM's SST framework (Spiritual Impact, Scriptural Relevance, and Theological Depth) provides a structured approach to evaluating Christian literature, enabling readers to gauge its effectiveness and depth. The model incorporates three vital components: Biblical Reference Frequency (BRF), Biblical Reference Density (BRD), and Relevance Score (RS) to also evaluate a scholarly work in line with the model’s SST. The study outlines the conceptual framework, methodological considerations, and potential applications. This study adopts a sola scriptura methodology wrapped in mixed-methods approach, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and employing scriptural model to explore Theowordiness in Hebrews chapter one. This paper contributes to expanding the frontiers of theological education.
