Description

Burnout is a state of physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion caused by long-term stress and associated with strong emotions. This study examines the relationship between burnout and the performance of healthcare workers. The type of research conducted is quantitative research with a correlation approach, measuring the relationship between burnout and the performance of health workers. Data collection used a questionnaire, the number of research samples was 52 people using purposive sampling. The instrument was tested for validity and reliability and analyzed using Spearman Rho correlation (ρ). The study found that "very low burnout" amounted to 40.4% with "high performance" amounting to 40.4%. The relationship between burnout and employee performance was 0.632, which is in the high correlation category. Thus, it is necessary to control burnout which is part of the form of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by individual involvement for a long time in a situation with full emotional demands. Health workers need to know and understand “emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduced personal accomplishment” and health centers need to pay attention to this in order to anticipate burnout, because it can maintain and improve performance.
