GW230814: investigation of a loud gravitational-wave signal observed with a single detector
Authors/Creators
Description
This data release contains the analysis results and data behind the figures of the GW230814 discovery paper. Strain data for this event (the L1:GDS-CALIB_STRAIN_CLEAN_AR channel) can be downloaded from GWOSC. The content of this repository is:
- the C00-Combined-XO4a.h5 file contains the combined posterior samples for the 4 different models described in the paper. In addition to containing the posterior samples, the .h5 file also contain metadata about the analyses including the configuration files (which specify details such as the detector data analysed), noise power spectral densities and calibration uncertainty envelopes. The inference of the source parameters were performed with Bilby and we assume the calibration envelopes for LIGO Livingston maps calibrated data to theoretical strain. The .h5 files are formatted using PESummary.
- the figures_data.tar.gz file contains minimal, post-processed data to reproduce all figures of the paper.
- the scripts.tar.gz file contains a number of notebook to reproduce the content of the paper. In detail:
- `posteriors_minimal.ipynb` reads the posterior samples and produces Figures 2,3,4,5;
- `tgr_minimal.ipynb` reads from the figure data and produces Figures 7,8,9,10,11,14,16 and 17;
- `TauFisher.ipynb` produces Figure 12;
- `plot_mismatches_minimal.ipynb` produces Figure 15;
- `waveform-with-data_minimal.ipynb` produces Figures 1 and 12;
- the 230814.yaml file contains the dependencies to set-up a conda environment to run all the scripts above. For more information, see this page.
