Description

This deposit contains the output of the simulations described in On the formulation and implementation of mixed mode I and mode II extrinsic cohesive zone models with contact and friction, N.A. Collins-Craft & V. Acary, available at https://inria.hal.science/hal-04447397. The codes that generated the data are available in either a Zenodo deposit at https://zenodo.org/records/16911870, or via a GitLab repository (the preferred method): https://gitlab.inria.fr/ncollins/on-the-formulation-and-implementation-of-mixed-mode-i-and-mode-ii-extrinsic-cohesive-zone-models-with-contact-and-friction#.

The structure of the deposit is a .zip file, which will unpack to a folder with a structure as follows:

  • edge_cracked_block: The edge_cracked_block folder contains all of the results of the simulations pertaining to the edge-cracked block test geometry. It features three subfolders:
    • frictional: The frictional folder contains the results of the simulation corresponding with the frictional case in section 5.3 of the paper, The edge-cracked block. This folder contains .pvtu files that index the .vtu files contained in the relevant subfolder, .vtk files that contain the cohesive zone model quantities at the quadrature points of the relevant sides, and two subfolders:
      • block_frictional-VTU: The block_frictional-VTU folder contains the .vtu files that describe the classical mechanical quantities at the nodes and the quadrature point of the elements as appropriate.
      • python_results: The python_results folder contains .csv files that describe the cohesive zone model quantities at all points as well as global quantities pertaining to the energetics of the system and the solution quality of the numerical method.
    • frictionless: The frictionless folder contains the results of the simulation corresponding with the frictionless case in section 5.3 of the paper, The edge-cracked block. This folder contains .pvtu files that index the .vtu files contained in the relevant subfolder, .vtk files that contain the cohesive zone model quantities at the quadrature points of the relevant sides, and two subfolders:
      • block_frictionless-VTU: The block_frictionless-VTU folder contains the .vtu files that describe the classical mechanical quantities at the nodes and the quadrature point of the elements as appropriate.
      • python_results: The python_results folder contains .csv files that describe the cohesive zone model quantities at all points as well as global quantities pertaining to the energetics of the system and the solution quality of the numerical method.
    • images: The images folder contains two .png files that show the state of the frictional and frictionless systems at the final time steps of the simulations.
  • springs: The springs folder contain the results of the simulations pertaining to the spring geometry described in section 5.1, Quasi-static scalar case with elastic springs, and section 5.2 Dynamic scalar case with elastic springs, of the paper. It features four subfolders:
    • dynamic_soft: The dynamic_soft folder contains a .csv file that contains the results of the simulation described in section 5.2.1 The soft spring system.
    • dynamic_stiff: The dynamic_stiff folder contains a .csv file that contains the results of the simulation described in section 5.2.2 The stiff spring system.
    • static_ill_posed: The static_ill_posed folder contains a .csv file that contains the results of the simulation described in section 5.1.1 The soft spring system.
    • static_well_posed: The static_well_posed folder contains a .csv file that contains the results of the simulation described in section 5.1.2 The stiff spring system.
